OKay, so for those of you know us, we always keep you on your feet...and now we are in Hawaii! It all started, oh about a month ago, when we realized that we were sick of waiting around for football. While everyone says how nice it must be to not have anything to do during the day....we were going crazy...and we even did find things to fill up our day. Jordon practically started a new career and I taught all spring...however, we were getting bored in SD, and felt like we really were not getting anywhere. I was offered a job in Kauai teaching, and we just jumped on the offer! So, as of right now, we are planning on just being here a year. If we love it, we will stay longer, if we are yearning for the mainland we will probably come back! After this...to make my family feel better...we will be moving to Huntington Beach...so don't worry, we will be back!...And I know, the question of the hour...what about football? and Jordon? ...well to explain, Jordon has one more year on his contract...so he is legally bound to the sport for one more season...he will eventually, when the strike ends, have to go back to Detroit. If they think he can play and want to keep him on their team, they will, and I will have to fly back and forth this fall. This would be very hard, I know, and a pain, but we have done this before and will get through it. My school is also a year-round school, so I have a lot of time off in the fall, which will make it a lot easier!....The other scenario-if his knee is not 100% yet, which we both know it is not, and they decide he can't play, they will release him. At this point he has like 24-48 hours to be picked up by another team. If he is, he has to go to that team, and the scenarios start again. If he is not, because of injury, he will come back to Kauai with me & champerdoodle and get a job here, which he already has 100 offers....So I hope that answers your questions! Now, on to me :)...I have a kindergarten classroom and am so excited for this upcoming year. I just got here and we start next week, so my head is going insane....I foresee endless hours in the room over the next week...my school is Koloa Elementary and it is super cute(I will post some pics soon). Schools are a little different than in the mainland...so it will take some getting used to, but all in all, it seems great!
Pictures to come this evening....
Thanks for the update. I'm so excited for you guys and champ-ola. In fact, I'm jealous! Don't forget to make the spare room into a pad for the girls to come visit you(you know who they are). Can't wait to see photos of your classroom and school. Peace,
